pop-up shop closed

Thank you to those who spread the word about the last pop-up item of the year for Snap + Tumble. And thank you to those who've grabbed up a gold pack! I took some much needed time away from the city last evening and sped to the cottage. I brought all of the contents of the gold packs and packaged each set individually in the morning by the lakeside. I addressed the mailers and headed to the town post office to make the deliveries. It's never called 'work' when it's something you love to do. So, thank you again, for allowing me to do what I love to do and to be able to share it with you.

pop-up shop: gold & black collection

Alright folks, here it is, the Gold & Black collection of letterpress printed goods! Have a peep at the details of what's included here. The shop opens today at 2pm EST and only 10 sets are available for purchase.

I've been wanting to use gold ink for quite some time now and slowly printed up a collection of cards and postcards for each set. Five of the sets (#1-5) come a correspondence card that reads, "LOVE" on the front. Four of the cards (#6-9) read "WISH" and the one set (#10) has the card which reads, "GLEE". I hold this collection near and dear because I printed some images that were used from the start of Snap + Tumble four years ago. And then of course the beloved starburst cut makes another appearance and the ever sweet and simple wood type returns. To complete the set, I printed a little something (a "hello!" and gold dots) on the envelopes.

This will be the last in the series of limited edition Snap + Tumble goods for the year. The commissioned projects, wholesale orders and letterpress workshops are well underway and will be keeping me busy till it's time to put up my feet. The baby has already started kicking but I'm convinced he's doing cart wheels because there's so much darn movement in there!

Woot! See you at the Snap + Tumble online pop-up shop at 2pm!

pop-up shop item sneak peek

Another sneak peek of the latest pop-up shop series! These correspondence cards are a limited edition of 20. Half of them were sent to The Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery Shop in Waterloo (thank you, Emily!) and the other half will be sold with a set (which I'll reveal tomorrow) in the pop-up shop. Ooh, I can't wait to show you.

toys

I only really find out about cool toys because of my nephew.  These little guys were part of a recent project I printed for Evan's 6th birthday party coming up next weekend. More on this project to come.

Also, stay tuned for the next Snap + Tumble pop-up shop item! If you missed the last three issues they were the Postal Kits, the Starbursts and the Lootbags. Oh yes. It's been a while. I'm just working on populating the online shop and hope to have it open next Wednesday. Previews start next week. Hold me to it! Till then, have a great weekend!

postal kits en route

Thank you to those who snapped up a Postal Kit yesterday and for the tweets and messages. It was a swift sell-out and it only encourages Jaime and I to make more! No time wasted and I've packaged up the kits (complete with vintage postage!) and they are ready to go out today. Enjoy your kits, write often!

pop-up shop: postal kit

It was only a matter of time before Jaime, from Send More Mail, and myself combined our love for snail mail, vintage stamps, and letterpress into one crafty project. Even though we live in the same city, we've been local penpals for over two years! Shortly after Jaime's recent venture of launching her vintage stamp packs, we got to talking (and letter-writing) about snail mail kits. In just a couple of months, we came up with something simple, useful, and I must say, pretty darn cute. Here you have some provisions for writing and sending a standard sized note or postcard within Canada. Each stamp pack is unique and hand-picked by Jaime. The Postal Kit is all in the name of snail mail revival, handmade and pretty things.

The Postal Kit includes:

+ 4 letterpress flat cards and 4 envelopes
+ 4 letterpress postcards
+ 4 packs of mint vintage Canadian stamps ($0.59 value)
+ 4 greeting stickers
+ 1 pencil
+ 1 letterpress printed 'mail bag'

Only 12 sets have been assembled for this issue! Grab one from the Snap + Tumble pop-up shop (open at 2pm EST) today!

pop-up shop announcement: postal kit!

Hi folks! Jaime and I are so excited about this small limited edition item we're offering today. Only 12 sets have been created for this issue with the hopes of making more for the future. More details on what the kits include in a couple of hours!

another sneak peek!

More sneak peeks on the next item that will be available in the pop-up shop this Wednesday! I spent a good portion of last Friday with my partner in crafty crime and collaborator assembling the items and it was great to see everything come together! Can't wait to show you all. More details tomorrow!

I heard that noting a few good things a day will generally make you happier. Let's give it a go.

1. homemade ciabatta bread
2. family Sunday dinners
3. several rounds of Pictionary
4. 21 degrees and thunderstorms

pop-up shop item sneak peek

Thank you, everyone for the recent comments on this week's posts. I've been pretty lucky to come in contact with some really talented people who trust me to print their projects. So it needn't be said that the pleasure was all mine!

Speaking of other folks, here's a sneak peek into this month's pop-up shop item which is a collobaration with a dear friend of mine. This is the first product that Snap + Tumble will be offering that is a joint effort and I hope to do more of these in the future. Sharing thoughts and ideas with other super-talented and crafty minds is the way to go. Alot of fun, creativity and work you love to do is bound to be the result.

More details coming up on Monday and we are aiming to open the shop later on in the week! Stay tuned, all!

a little help

Thank you to those who blogged, tweeted and spread the word of the second issue item in the pop-up shop! The day after the correspondence cards were made available, disaster struck Japan. I kept an eye on the news and developments but felt that I had to stop watching shortly thereafter. I simply can't imagine what families and friends of those affected are going through, but I would like to try to help.

I will donate 50% of the sales from the Starburst cards to the Canadian Red Cross to help their efforts towards Japan. There are still some editions left in the shop up for grabs! The pop-up shop will remain open until Wednesday March 16th 2pm EST.

Hope you're having a good start to your week. I'm quite thankful for the sunny weather this morning.

pop-up shop now open: starburst correspondence cards

Because the Starburst cards I printed for PAL-SAC were so well-received, I decided to print a small limited edition batch in different colours. There is something about the shape of the Starburst with Spring colours that is just so feel-good. I've bundled 12 sets of 4 cards (one of each colour in mint, peach, plum and lemon). The cards come with bright white smooth envelopes and kraft sticker seals.

One of my favorite antique blocks to print with is the Starburst. It’s made of zinc and mounted by nails onto a nice solid block of hardwood measuring two inches. Seeing it inked on the press and it’s full-bodied impression on cardstock never fails to give me a shot of happy.

The editioned sets will be available in the Snap + Tumble Pop-Up shop today at 2pm EST!

Have a feel-good day, everyone :)

pop-up opens tomorrow

More teasers for the pop-up shop! It's in maintenance mode right now but I'll be opening up the Snap + Tumble Pop-Up shop tomorrow at 2pm EST.

Some folks have asked if whether or not they can sign up for the limited edition goods. While I have played around with the idea of a subscription, it is not yet in place. So for now it is a game of quick-draw; first come to the shop, first serve. The first issue items were the 16 loot bags which were grabbed up within 48 hours. I've only made 12 of the second issue item for the pop-up shop so I'm hoping that with these daily notices, you'll be able to scoop one up when the shop opens.

Thanks for tuning in, everyone. See you back tomorrow!

pop-up shop item sneak peek

Hi folks! I'm busy getting the second issue item ready for the pop-up shop. It should be up before the end of this week and I'll give you a head's up the day before I open it. The first issue item were the lootbags and this time it's something different (60pt Bodoni type not included) ;) Yesterday's spring colours and today's photo of the numbered bag is a small sneak peek.

loot bag count down

A warm thank you to those who picked themselves up a Letterpress Loot Bag from the pop-up shop yesterday. And hugs to those who shared and passed on the shop link, tweeted, blogged and sent messages. Some of you have asked if this will be the only time I make the loot bags, and the answer is no. But it won't be for another while so this is it for now.

I'm glad to see all of the loot bags off to good homes.

UPDATE: 7:57PM Loot Bags sold out!
