rock + moon cards

These latest cards were inspired by my little guy, who's now almost 26 months old. I think these thoughts of him when I see his sweet little face, or when he makes me laugh and every time he says, "Hi, Mommy!". The list of things he does and says that make my heart full is endless. He is my rock and he hangs the moon.

The rock and moon cards will be making their debut at the Love & Rummage show at The Workroom this Sunday. Come on out and get something handmade for your sweetie pie!

pint-size notes

New to the Snap + Tumble line are Pint-Size Notes! These mini flat cards are a sweet way to give that special someone a few loving reminders of why he or she makes you smile. One packet  includes six different greetings (You're a total fox / You're the only fish in the sea for me / Let's get carried away / I dig your smile / We were written in the stars / I like you better than chocolate). Measuring at just 3.5 x 5 cm (1" x 2"), these notes are a perfect fit to hide in a wallet, lunchbag or tuck one inside a pocket!

The Pint-Size Notes will be available at this Sunday's Love & Rummage trunk show!

love and lightning

Lately, I've been preoccupied with carving stamps out of erasers! These days, it's hard to muster up the energy to use the letterpress after the little one has been put down to sleep. But I've found I'm able to just sit at the dining room table, carve out a little image or two and stamp to my heart's content in a fraction of the time it would to print. The freedom to switch colours at a whim, isn't so bad either! But in the end, I finished the new cards with letterpress printed greetings since I didn't want to completely get away from it :) These will be available at this Sunday's Love & Rummage show at The Workroom. Hope to see you there!

The City of Craft holiday event just gets better and better each year. Held in three separate buildings with over 60 vendors (including youth vendors!), I think it's safe to say that the organizers outdid themselves this year. It was wonderful to see Toronto support its own and handmade whole-heartedly by coming out to the show, talking to makers, participating in workshops and purchasing goods.

As for the Snap + Tumble Postcard Printing Station, it was a hit! Lots of folks took to the press quite eagerly. I even had a few kids step right up to see what it was all about and give it a go.

Loads of fun and good times. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get to do this again next year!

starburst are coming to town: City of Craft

I just found out last week that I'll be participating in the City of Craft happening this weekend. It's been a crazy week of late night printing and getting things together for my table. I'm happy to say that I'll be bringing the Postcard Printing Station to the event! It debuted at the first Junction Flea and was a hit. I will be at the City of Craft on both Saturday and Sunday from 12-2pm. If you're in the hood, say hello or come and get your hands dirty and print a postcard or two. There'll also be a few new cards featuring the starbursts!

Thank you to those who dropped by the S + T table at the OCAD U Book Arts Fair on Saturday. It was a very relaxed affair so I was able to catch up with a few friends, talk to fellow vendors and make some purchases of my own. I'm looking forward to using the monogram stationery set I got from from Don Black Linecasting's table which was represented by the Kozo Studio family. A new favorite artist is Frankly Franny! How stinkin' awesome is the hot foil stamped vintage card? And I couldn't resist the always well-curated vintage stamp packs by Send More Mail (who now also creates American stamp packs!).

post flea

I had a really great time at the Junction Flea Market on Sunday. Pedestrian traffic was in full effect and the sun was blazing. It was already balmy at 7am and it got so intense by the afternoon. Luckily, my booth was under a tent!

I was so pleased with the response to the Postcard Printing Station. Some passerbys couldn't help but either stop, linger, look, ask or print. The cityscape plate got the most play but each image got inked up and printed by day's end. Even kids got in on the printing action! It was really nice to see folks be excited about using the Showcard. I am definitely going to have to set up the printing station again.

This was my first time offering on-site printing and thankfully, I don't think I'd change anything in terms of the set-up. One colour, two types of cardstock and a choice of six images went very smoothly.

As for the stationery, it's always good to see people pick up and touch the hand printed cards. My top seller was the last minute print I did the day before the flea. "No. 1 Dad" for Father's Day :)

A big thank you to Smash and Russet & Empire for organizing such a successful event! And a very, very big thank you to my good friend, Chris, who helped me out with the booth for the entire sweltering day!

the postcard printing station

Not only will The Junction Flea be my first show of the year, it'll be my first outdoor event and it'll also be the first time I offer on-site printing!

Introducing, the Postcard Printing Station! I'll be toting my mini showcard to the flea and a stack of blank postcards for folks to print on. There will be black ink and a choice of six plates to chose from. Only $3 a print or free with purchase!

The weather for Sunday looks to be hot, hot, hot. Maybe the flea will have a sprinkler system set up so I can run through it every 5 minutes?

For those of you in the GTA, I hope to see you at The Junction Flea. Swing by, make a print, say hello...it's been too long!

Have a great weekend, all!

modern ornaments

My newest folded 4BAR prints will be making their debut this Sunday at The Junction Flea! I've had these designs for a while (over a year) and was waiting for the right time to print them together. These are the Ornaments Collection and include the plaid, chevron, arrows, feather and crosshatch.

I've been keeping an eye on the forecast for the weekend and it's calling for straight up sunny skies for the outdoor market!
