Here's a small update (and then some) to the making it simpler post. To summarize, I wanted to pare things down but felt some anxiety about actually doing it. I had too many projects on the go, products in the shop, and half-realized ideas. Since that post and the accompanying comments, I've never felt better about my decision to simplify things. It suddenly became easy to channel my energy.

I've never felt better about my decision to simplify things.

As a result, I've chosen to work solely on two items. One, you may already know about - the monthly letterpress subscription. It's going in a different direction than what I planned and am excited about seeing it take on a new shape. I really can't wait to get to the printing. But the finer details of the subscription need to be defined first.

It's a terrible feeling to come up with an idea...only to see it retrofitted a couple days later in someone else's hands.

As for the second idea, I'm keeping on the down low. Sharing information and ideas with others is supposed to be a good thing. But because this blog isn't private, I'm no stranger to being poached from. I'm sure I'm not alone in this. It's a terrible feeling when you've come up with an idea, share it, go through the pains of working out the kinks, sitting through the gestation period and putting your heart into it, only to see it retrofitted a couple days later in someone else's hands. Worse over when it's a repeat offender. That said, I'm sadly and reluctantly keeping a little bit to myself. For now ;)

That is completely understandable and it will be so neat when the time is right to hear what you have decided and have come up with. Yay!

I wouldn't be commenting at all but I find the lack of respect in some comments disheartening and question the motive behind them! I applaud you for following your heart and I think you are completely justified wanting to protect certain ideas! Can't wait to see how the subscription progresses!
