letterpress loot bag subscription: yay or nay?

Last Friday I mentioned an idea that was I toying with. I'd like to run it by you all today and ask for your thoughts on it. Details are below, feel free to leave a comment.

Simply put it's a monthly subscription to receive a letterpress loot bag. For me, the words "loot bag" conjure up memories of birthday parties and fun surprises. I loved getting these treats when I was kid.

If you're anything like me, you'd still get a kick out of seeing what’s inside a loot bag. Especially if it’s sent via snail mail and filled with letterpress goods.

------------------------------------

Here are some details of the would be snap & tumble letterpress loot bag subscription:

What's inside?
The contents of the loot bag would be a surprise. It may include any combination of the following: postcards, flat cards, greeting cards, gift tags, bookmarks, coasters, lined envelopes, message cards, custom stationery, or limited edition art prints. It would be a mix of keepsakes and useful letterpress printed wares.

When would I receive my loot bag?
I would send them out on the 15th of the month. Any orders placed after the 15th, you’d receive your loot bag the following month. I'd like to launch the letterpress loot bag subscription in October 2010.

How many months would I be able to sign up for?
You would be able to subscribe for one, three, six, or twelve months. You'd also have the option of purchasing it as a gift.

How much would a subscription be?
I haven't ironed this one out yet. The idea is to make each  loot bag contain a good selection of prints or a variety of stationery all the while being affordable and sustainable for myself.

------------------------------------

Your comments, questions, votes and emails will help me decide if the letterpress loot bag subscription will be snap & tumble’s next line of goods. So if you've got a few moments, YAY or NAY?

A definite YAY
The only problem with your shop is I can't decide what to buy! A surprise coming in the post is always exciting so I think this is a great idea!

Lots of other printers are already doing this. Maybe you should try coming up with something original instead.

Max Catterall: thanks! I'm thinking about taking some items away from the shop to make it a bit leaner so your comment is timely.

Sonnet and Mayhem: thanks! I think I might've shared this idea with you last year and you were on board then too!

merium, Daniella, Anonymous (#1), Melinda Josie, davidgood, Diane Faye Zerr, sjm, Sandi and Karol: thank you for the positive feedback!

Anonymous #2: Thanks for taking the time to comment. My goal wasn't to create something original. My intent was to offer snap & tumble readers something they might enjoy receiving as much as I would creating it for them.

Where can I sign up? I would absolutely love this. Please do it. None of us get enough fun snail mail anymore.

Go for it... I am a true believer in Snail Mail! At our CabinPress Studio we even have a shipping label with a snail illustration.

Anonymous: thanks for your vote. It's not exactly clear what you mean by "it's not your idea". The subscription isn't a novel idea. But rest assured, a letterpress lootbag was indeed an idea I developed.
