letterpress workshop with court + micheline

It may still be summer but the Letterpress Curiosity Workshops are still hoppin'! Court and Micheline came in yesterday to give the Adana and Craftsmen a little workout.  Court printed some personalized stationery for himself and his fiance. His main goal out of the workshop was to see my process from start to finish . He spoke about perhaps getting his own press one day and wanted to get the basics beforehand. Micheline, on the other hand, already owns a couple of presses! It was great to be able to share techniques, tips and tricks with a fellow printer. I'm a big believer in that there isn't one way of doing things. There are other methods or workarounds that make just as much sense. Micheline was interested in seeing how the photo corners were applied to the cardstock on the platen. And in turn, she encouraged me to look into the type of gauge pins she uses for micro adjustments. Exchanging and sharing information and creativity - love it.

ps. Micheline, thanks for taking the time out of your vacation from Nova Scotia to stop by!

It felt so good to talk shop with someone. The internet is a great resource but it's always a one way conversation. I really loved sharing ideas and seeing how you were able to solve similar problems in completely different yet totally effective ways. I had a great time. It is definitely one of the highlights of my trip.
