playing with watercolour + letterpress

A couple of weeks ago I was cleaning out my room in my parents house and found my old set of watercolour paints. The other day I tested them out and it brought me back to when I used them in high school. I forgot how lovely and easy breezy it is to lay down a wash of colour. I enjoy the transparency of watercolour and how it still manages to be vibrant. I dug out some unused coasters and blind printed some Bodoni characters shortly after the paint was applied. These remind me of children's alphabet blocks. I might incorporate these into the letterpress workshop or make a series out of them. Oh, the possibilities!

Oh Tanya! I've daydreamed about doing washes of colour on letterpress prints ever since I did my set of cards! I'm so glad I got to see what it looks like! (They look so pretty!).

Daniella: ha, I didn't even realize the turquoise/teal is similar to the Tiffany blue, nice!

Melinda Josie: the watercolour goes down on my house stock really nicely as well. when the paint dries, the colour is even more brilliant! when you get around to doing my workshop, remember to take some watercolour with you! :)

That's a nice sized Bodoni you have there ;) Like gold dust in the UK but hopefully I might have some 72pt on the way!
