letterpress curiosity workshop: double the printing fun

It was great to get back into the studio to hold the first Letterpress Curiosity Workshop of 2010. On Saturday, Kirk and Stephanie got to use both the CMC and the Adana. What a difference it makes having both presses in full operation!

When given a few typefaces to choose from, participants often surprise themselves with their own creativity. Even though I presented a couple of plates, it seems that images just get in the way of really playing. I love the endless possibilities of using type. When Stephanie and Kirk were finished with their first batch of prints, they switched presses. This gave them a good feel for both types of presses and their printing capabilities. And even though they each got full one-on-one time with the presses, we still went happily overtime.
